In this article, we will be discussing the top 9.11 tier list for League of Legends. This list is perfect for those players who are looking to climb their way up in ranked matches and get into the challenger’s mode!

This list is not a representation of the best champions, but rather it’s a reflection of our opinion on which champions are currently strong in the current meta. We will divide this into two sections: The Strong Champions and Challengers

The Strong Tier List – These are top-tier champions that have proven their worth among other players through ranked matches or normal games. They can be picked for any role and excel at almost every game objective. However, they may be weaker than some other picks against specific compositions or team comps.

Challenger Tier List – This tier consists of those who had been considered as one of the strongest beforehand, but while they still have the potential to carry a game, their strong matchups are getting harder and harder as the meta shifts. For instance, champions like Evelynn may be able to do well in certain team comps that she can snowball off of because her kit is very self-sufficient; however since most teams now emphasize more on wave clear and pushing out lanes than focusing on picking individual targets which inhibits Eve’s effectiveness.

In no particular order, here is my take for the top nine tiers of Pokemon Sword and Shield. Maybe I am biased because these are some of my favorite types but they are definitely what I think will be the best in this new meta.

Tier One: Steel – This isn’t surprising considering steel was a really good type in previous games too. It has so much variety thanks to all 18 different types it resists along with an immunity to fire like normal which can make it very difficult to break through their defense without using ice or water moves. The only thing that could hold them back is if other types become more dominant than others since there’s not many weaknesses out side fairy and dark. They also have access to moves like Iron Defense, Light Screen, and Reflect which can make it very hard to break through their defenses.

Tier Two: Fairy – I really think fairy is going to be just as good as steel if not better in this meta because of how many weaknesses they have thanks to fighting types being the most common type from what we’ve seen so far. They also don’t resist any other type besides psychic which isn’t a big issue considering there’s only four others that are weak against them (Ghost, Dragon, Poison). Not even dark does all too well against fairies with Steelix being one of the few Pokemon who resists both rock and ground attacks.*

Tier Three: Fighting – While fighting may not seem like much at first glance, they have a ton of resistances. This makes them very good at taking on many types, and it really helps that their attack stat is high too making them the best type to use against steel.

Tier Four: Dark – As I mentioned earlier dark may not seem like much considering there are only four other weak types (Ghost, Dragon, Poison), but what really helps this type out is how strong some of its Pokemon are. For instance Tyranitar has an impressive 100 base attack while being able to take down psychic with Stone Edge as well as be resistant to fighting so you can imagine these two things make for one heck of a battle combo!

Tier Five: Psychic- The lack of weaknesses in this tier list allows for it to be the most versatile type when it comes to attacking and defending. It also has a lot of strong Pokemon with some like Latios, Mewtwo, Starmie being very difficult to take down thanks to their resistances.

Tier One: Fairy- The best of the bunch is fairy as they have no weaknesses that really stand out! They can hit anything super effectively so you will never get tired running this type in your battles.

I hope these tier rankings help both new players looking for guidance on which types are best as well as experienced battlers wanting something fresh! Thank you all for reading my blog post about tiers lists and good luck in your future games 🙂

As these lists were made before Gen II, please note their place in this Tier List is subject to change.\\ *Let’s start with the worst ones first! Have you ever heard of Kirlia? Well let me tell you about my personal experience playing against one.. it was not great for either party involved. I had no idea how to beat them because they could easily take any attack I had without taking any damage.
