jordan why not

Athletics: When I was younger, my favorite sport to watch on TV was the Olympics. The night before Christmas Eve I would sit in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn and get excited as all those athletes who had been training for four years were about to compete against each other. Even though it’s not an Olympic event now, competitive gymnastics is still one of my favorites. It has taken me most of high school just to learn how to do a cartwheel without falling over when you try flipping onto your hands from sitting down- that’s how much work goes into mastering these difficult moves!

When we talked about sports at lunch yesterday our conversation turned towards Jordan Spieth. He had just won the Masters, his first major championship as a pro and with none other than Tiger Woods there to witness it.

The last time I had watched golf on TV was at the beginning of March when we were all watching to see if Rory McIlroy would break Jack Nicklaus’ record for most total professional majors won. He didn’t win this one but Jordan Spieth did! It feels like he has come out of nowhere in such an impressive way that no-one can deny their astonishment anymore. There is something about him that sparks our interest because now everyone wants to know what makes him so special? What will be his next accomplishment? Why not Jordan?

Within 24 hours after posting my article, I received an email from a reader who said he was so excited to read my article that it made his day. He had just won the Masters, and while Tiger Woods was there to witness it, many others were watching because of Jordan Spieth’s impressive win as well.

The last time I watched golf on TV is when Rory McIlroy could have broken Jack Nicklaus’ record for most total professional majors but didn’t get this one either. The Masters is the most prestigious of all golf tournaments. Jordan’s win at this tournament has given him a ticket to the big time, and now he might just be knocking on the door of Tiger Woods’ record for major victories. The world wants to know how far can Jordan go from here: so does he have what it takes to break through that glass ceiling? I’m not sure if anyone knows yet but we’ll find out soon enough.

Jordan Spieth is no longer an underdog in any sense because his latest victory proves there isn’t anything that would stop him now – like Rory McIlroy before him who was also amazing when he won two majors back-to-back, and then nothing happened. Or is it?

What’s next for Jordan Spieth and what will be his big accomplishment? His best chance of winning the U.S. Open comes in 2018, but he’s a favorite at any tournament now that isn’t made up of all four majors because we know him better as someone who can win on multiple courses – not just one or two. It’ll also be interesting to see if he starts playing more tournaments than before and what happens when motivation becomes an issue again down the road which could happen with anyone from time-to-time, even Tiger Woods had those moments where you felt like there was nothing left inside him. What do I think about Jordan Spieth: He deserves every accolade he gets so far and I think he’ll be a top golfer for the next decade.

The Future of Jordan Spieth: It all depends on what happens in 2018, but if he’s able to win another major by then – which is entirely possible because of his consistency thus far – that will make him one of the best golfers ever at 24 years old and it would just take something else after that to eventually get into the conversation with Tiger Woods as an overall better golfer than Jack Nicklaus. But even if Jordan never wins another major championship, there are so many other accomplishments from now until age 30 or 35 that could land him among some pretty elite company like Phil Mickelson. No matter how you look at it, this young man is a special talent and we should enjoy watching him on the course for as long as he’s playing.

Jordan Spieth is 24 years old with five major championships, one of which was his first at age 20 – making him only the fourth player in history to accomplish that feat. And this year there are four majors left (and hopefully many more) before he turns 25 when Tiger Woods won his final two titles while Jack Nicklaus turned 30 years old without winning another championship after three straight.

In 11 seasons since turning pro in 2012, Jordan has already had 15 top-eight finishes such as third place at Augusta National behind Rory McIlroy by one stroke last April or second behind Patrick Reed in 2016 at Quail Hollow when Jordan was 23.

Jordan’s work ethic is legendary as he has one of the most rigorous schedules on tour, which includes working with a sports psychologist and nutritionist to stay sharp and find ways to improve even when playing well. He also spends his downtime practicing putting at home or reading Golf in Style magazine while keeping up with what other athletes are doing, including Michael Jordan.

He would be an inspirational figure for generations who might not have watched golf otherwise – just like how Michael was for so many kids growing up long before Tiger came along. And if that doesn’t happen? We’ll still enjoy watching him on the course for as long as he’s playing.”

This article explores why Spieth should be considered as one of the best ever—if not THE best to date—at such a young age and why he will likely surpass Tiger Woods’ dominance in PGA Tour victories. It also includes quotes from Jim Nantz about what made MJ so great, and their similarities to Spieth’s career thus far. Finally, this piece makes an argument for Spieth being compared with his idol at least once during Sunday night’s final round broadcast on ESPN (even if it isn’t true). .. ..
