The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

A lot of people assume that their thoughts are their actions and that they are in control of their own actions. They dont realize that they are only aware of their thoughts, and actions, because they arent. That is just a false assumption that we all make, and it can take up a lot of mental space.
I have always heard that when you are in the middle of what you call “your thoughts”, you just have to stay focused on your thoughts because your actions are what make you do what you do. I have always thought, however, that this is a very bad idea, because most things that are automatic and unconscious, like habits, routines, and impulses, are not things that you want to be conscious of.
When you are actually aware of what you are doing, you can decide to ignore these things and act on them. For example, you can decide to brush your teeth or go to the gym every morning. Or you can decide to sit down at your computer and read your e-mail.
It’s not just the actions. If you can only be conscious of these things, then you have something to really take control of. The reason it’s so easy is that we use them to control our thoughts, emotions, and actions. I think this is because we don’t mind them. We don’t mind how we think, feel, or feel that we’re doing. This is why it’s so easy to control our thinking.
The way I see it, there are two things that are important for us to think about – our actions and our thoughts. The first is that we also have a purpose, and we need to be doing it.
